Waldfest Tegernseer Gebirgsschützen

Dear readers,

if you're not from Germany, the first thing that comes into your mind thinking about Germany surely is Lederhosen. You'll find them in Bavaria, my second destination this summer.

In the lovely village of Tegernsee (located at lake Tegernsee) it's no big deal to see people wearing traditional costume, called Tracht, because Bavarians commonly emphasize pride in their traditions. I also got a Tracht, but that's a different story.

The complete Tracht is worn on special occasions, like the Waldfest of Tegernseer Gebirgsschützen.

Here are a few impressions.

Cheers
Mike

Vacation impressions: Between Tracht and fashion

Tracht (traditional national costume), Lederhosen and beer. Bavaria is cliché, that's for sure. But I pretty much like it.
You can feel the importance of tradition and nature's materials when you spend your holidays especially in Upper Bavaria's jewel Tegernsee Valley.

Care for some Lederhosen? No problem! You can buy them everywhere!

Dirndl fashion.

Traditional jacket and red corduroy.
